Top with Print

I love sewing with jersey and printed fabric is one of my favourites :)
The lower part is cut on bias, so it has a nice shape and I think
the drawstring in front makes it feminine.
Since I have used stretchy fabric I omitted the darts at the back upper part
and also the zipper at the side.

I found the pattern for this top in BurdaStyle 06/2005.
You can also make it with long sleeves and then you have a nice flounce as finishing.

  1. Awesome top! I really like it. As my daughter said: the fabric is what makes the style very modern again. What did you do for the stitching; almost looks like coverlock stitches???

    1. Thanks Rita! yeah, that's true :) I have a coverstitchmachine so you are right, and it's perfect for jersey.

  2. I also really like this top. I imagine the jersey makes it super comfortable to wear. Is the neckline adjustable with the drawstring? I sometimes find that Burda necklines are a little too low for me, but this looks just right.

    1. Thanks Nadine! Jersey is always comfy to wear, and this neckline you can adjust with the drawstring. I agree with you, and many BurdaStyle patterns I have to adjust the neckline to suits me better.
